Any ideas of a good one say 5m long and water proof maybe , do they have a light and do they plug into laptop or ?

I would find one that uses a mobile phone. If nothing else you will know you have a good screen.
Can get thermal imaging cameras, telescopes, microscopes, boroscopes and many other great things that use your mobile phone screen .

I bought one of the skinny ones; the built in lights aren't much good for anything that's further away than 6" and the picture is a bit muddy. TBH most phone cameras are more practical use except where access is literally down a tiny hole.

I bought a Depstech one that works with phone screen via WiFi from amazon for about 30 quid. Not bad at all for price. Has and adjustable light. Would recommend for price. Few videos on YouTube reviewing them.
I bought one of those. I have only used it a few times but it's a useful thing to have.

Based on experience I would suggest a 5m blutooth version. But that can result in restricted the illumination..

We have used a 5m version on a tablet to trace cables, pipes and faults. Allows key hole work rather than removing entire panels.

Practice does improve the performance of the kit

Can't help specifically but this is the one I bought ROTEK WiFi Wireless Endoscope, Inspection Camera 19.7 Inch Focal Length, 1080P HD 2.0 MP Borescope With 8 LED, IP68 Waterproof Flexible Snake Camera for Android IOS Smartphone iPhone Samsung - 11.5FT: Amazon.co.uk: Automotive works well with a wifi link to phone or tablet. Lesson learnt:- This replaced a different make that, despite the claim of the seller, could not focus on anything further than 75mm away whereas the current one focusses at up to 500mm and I can use it on a pole to inspect prop . Current one has a slightly stiff snake so will hold a curve as you poke it under an engine whereas the first one had a very floppy snake so good for poking down a hose but no good for inspections around an engine where you can't easily reach. So, it depends what you want it for and check the reviews of the one you chose to check it does what they say it will.
