i have just currently fitted a nasa sx 35 dsc/vhf radio, but when i turn on my chartplotter, a raytheon 630 i have major problems with the squelch, as in it is uncontrollable. i have tried many routes to find a soloution, as in a "clean" power supply to the radio, moving both instruments away form one another i.e. at least 3 metres, including aerials, replacing all old supply cables and renweing with new "clean supplies" (this from ships power). i have also fitted a suppressor to the vhf and this has only slightly improved its quality, yet i can transmit and receive with no problems at all. the vhf works fine only until i turn on the chart plotter, does anyone have any suggestions, as i feel this may either be a fault with the vhf, or an EMC problem being transmitted via the chartplotter, failing that does anyone else own a nasa dsc/vhf radio, and have they had any problems that nasa are not telling me about? i say this as my previous radio (kelvin hughes huson 60) worked fine, thou it is obviously not as sensitive due to the lack of electronics involved in it.
