Anybody using an electric winch handle? Either winch rite or ewincher or even a winch bit on a handheld drill? I need your comments, suggestions, do, don't, forget about them and install electric winches etc. This tendinitis or, tennis elbow as is called, is really killing my hands and need to do something about it. Avoid sailing is not an option....

Have used a Dewalt right angle drill (think it 400w rating)for a few years with the winch bit (cost £54). Was perfect with 2 speed and rattled the sail part up at high speed then the lower - tensioned up with winch handle.
Got e winch for a big birthday but still keep the former for other boat work.

We have a 30ft Jeanneau. Our Winchrite raises the mainsail all the way up very easily and it raises the anchor very quickly with our Simpson-Lawrence Anchorman. I haven't tried it on the genoa sheets or the mainsheet. You either need a self-tailing winch or someone to tail the halyard/sheet. It soon recharges and has always been ready to do its duty.
