Q: How do you console the boat owner with just two electrical heads and a power systems failure?
A: You can't really, other than saying "sh1t happens." :ROFLMAO:
 
I cannot believe they sell that many Elans per year so surely the dealer might know the installer of these heads - I doubt 2 electric heads is a standard fit so would have been changed on commissioning surely ? Is this just a bog standard Jabsco giving the problems ?

Have you read the thread I linked to in post 13? That might give a clue as to why the dealer is perhaps reluctant to help.

I am not sure what you hope to achieve by posting on here. If you want some advice about what may be wrong with you electric loos and how you might fix them why don't you first say what make they are (because different types operate in different ways) and exactly what is wrong?

Based on this thread and your earlier one about problems with your new Elan it seems that you do not enjoy a good relationship with the supplying dealer and quite frankly if you deal with them in the same obtuse way in which you respond to legitimate questions from people here who you are asking to help you I am not surprised.

In consumer disputes there are always at least two sides to the story and you are only telling a little bit of one story (your side) in a way that does not give anybody any clue as to what advice to give other than point you to the legal position that covers what your rights are and perhaps advise that if you are unable to have a fruitful dialogue with the dealer who sold you the boat you consider going down the legal route. However you should be aware that doing this rarely leads to a successful outcome (and can consume an enormous amount of time energy and money).

It is pointless having £1/4 million boat that has faults which limit your use and enjoyment, so perhaps you should consider asking your surveyor what needs doing and then instruct him to engage tradesmen to fix the faults so you can start again with the boat in full working order. If you have the energy then consider pursuing the dealer to recover the costs, bearing in mind that the law requires you after this length of time to demonstrate both that the faults existed at the time the boat was purchased and that you have given the supplier ample opportunity to fix them.
 
Indeed pvb however have you considered I might have pointing out this course of action to our Elan owner with the thought that a breakdown in the relationship might not be conducive to longer term issues which might need resolving. Sadly there are many poor dealers out there though as the link you mentioned highlights and obviously as wise Tranona says it is often hard to opine on merits Constructive without full disclosure.

But you’ve not told us the most essential element if we are to help: what make of electric toilet do you have fitted? Tell us that and that you’ve checked the inlet(s) is free flowing and we stand a chance of being able to help. As it is, we are frustrated by the lack of information provided.

But you won't get any meaningful advice unless you say what the problem is and the make of toilet.

Just making the point that if you want help then it is a 2 way process and that you seem to have difficulty in recognising this as the point has been made by several posters who could well be in a position to offer some advice (both with respect to your toilet problem and your earlier thread).
 
Every marina/ boatyard/ club has a grapevine of folks who willingly tackle minor boat problems in exchange for payment which does not involve two banks , bits of oblong plastic and an inconvenient paper trail. ?
At quick chat with the local know-it -all could solve this pressing problem and quickly clear the blockage ?
