Wet shaving on small boats isn't great. Particularly if you anchor a fair bit.

I've had the great idea of shaving whilst helming. Not shaving for a day or two makes me itchy.
So, is there a shaver that can be recommended with USB charging ?.
TIA

You can get usb adapters for shavers, or is your shaver not a rechargeable one? I have a usb charger for my electric toothbrush althoughI do not use it while helming

Pardon our interruption...

Curious because I had my hair cut last week and came away with a (2nd) hair clipper to repair. I was successful with the previous Babyliss one but not, I'm afraid, with this Wahl one...

A few days to get past the itch then you can grow a proper seadog beard!

There must be a standard anti-itch treatment. Maybe the stuff they used for canvas barge sails, giving a proper rouge colour? (According to Wikipedia "traditionally made from red ochre, cod oil, urine and seawater", see wikipedia.org/Thames_sailing_barge)

This - https://www.amazon.co.uk/SweetLF-El...prefix=rechargeable+shaver+usb,aps,107&sr=8-6

Bought one 6 years ago for the boat and works well. Rechargeable with standard USB cable.

Wet shaving is a mugs game as far as I am concerned, particularly on boats. Time consuming and messy - yuck!
Shaving when underway sitting by the stern keeping watch is much more convenient.

A wet shave every time for me, I just can't get on with an electric razor.
Me too. I get a lot less irritation and a cleaner shave from a wet razor. Modern wet razors carry an insignificant risk of cutting oneself; I only get a cut when I inadvertently take the top off a pimple or similar.

But I oscillate between growing a beard and shaving! But having a beard does not mean not shaving; I usually have to shave to maintain the shape of my beard - I prefer to have clean cheeks

I have recently started to have a professional wet shave. A surprisingly, enjoyable experience and have found that for a week or so after the shave my own are much closer. I am not looking at using a cut-throat in the future as that is a step too far.

My grandfather used a cut-throat razor; I've never felt inclined to try it! My father once had a thing called a Rolls Razor, but I never saw him use it!

Why worry about USB?

My Braun Series 7 shaver lasts for ~50 shaves on a single charge. Easy to charge with inverter (or shore power) every 1-3 weeks.

Still use a cut throat, both at home and on the boat. Wife appreciates the closeness of the shave. Like most most things practicemakes perfect.

If the OP doesn't find a suitable re-chargeable shaver he might like to consider a Braun shaver powered by 2off AA cells.

I have had one of these for a very long time and it gives a decent shave.

I think they cost about £20 nowadays.
