Any suggestions on a heater (240v) for the boat when not in use, would u just use a tube heater and if so what watt...if you get my drift.

60w tube heater and a thermostat plug from "City Electrical

Factors" will do the job nicely

Easy ...

B&Q ..... £9.99 Frost protection heater ... convection type at 200W and regulated. I have 2 ... 1 on in the boat - other is spare.

TLC etc. also do the Dimplex Coldwatch in 2 sizes ... 500W and 1KW ..... I have the 500W and its magic. Cost me about £30

Dimplex Coldwatch

Sorry but can't find a link in B&Q site to the small heater ... and it is small ... wall or floor mount.

My boat is sitting in Latvia and winters here are a little cooler than UK etc. I have the Dimplex in the main cabin on low setting and the B&Q job in the fwd cabin on low to med. setting. Boat is warm, dry and taking actually little electricity to maintain it.

I leave the WC vent open (mushroom job) and the fore-hatch cracked ... the washboards have slit vents in anyway. So boat is nicely set-up.
