there were two ... and I bought the other. The installation parts in the kit alone would have cost more than the price paid for the full kit if I bought the bits from Eberspacher!! .
...its a pity that we can't buy and sell items over £200 in these forums (fora?)
btw forget ebay.co.uk and try www.ebay.com - search, for example, for Raytheon or Raymarine and be amazed. Even with freight, tax and duty you can get some incredible deals. Most vendors will ship to the UK if you push. (I have no connection with EBay).
.. absolutely - and the carrier also makes a handling charge for collecting duty and vat from you on delivery - but I've always saved money when I've bought this way
This web site is very helpful and has links to a database to show duty for a particular tyoe of product
Best way to deal with duty etc is to send it to a friend in the States. When I order stuff it gets sent to her, she then removes all the invoices etc, sends them in an envelope and resends the package to me as a gift.
Also gets around those guys that refuse to send overseas.
admittedly you pay twice for thje postage - once to US address, once to UK, but lot easier to bear than vat and duty
Yeah,I saw that, but with Eber's marine parts especially the transom fitting, you have to be careful. Kruger quoted me £300 to convert a truck unit into a marine version.
Its that dreaded 'M' word
