I have looked in vain for the recent thread on this but to no avail.
I have repaired and rebuilt eberspachers over the years but have never fixed a fan.
I do get heaters with dodgy fans but have always been able to swap bits around. Often it is a badly corroded combustion air intake that I swap around and can often 'save' the fan motor for another heater.

Just out of interest and having read about changing the bearings I thought I would examine a motor with a failed bearing.
I have dismantled the motor ( stabbing myself when trying to bend the securing tangs with a 'sharp' screwdriver!!
I cant even see the bearing so suppose it has disintegrated!

Question ...... where can I get a bearing from?
Question........ Is there a 'stock' motor which will replace the eberspacher one (The label says Buhle motor GMBH but I cant locate a similar motor on their site)

I will report back with photos if I get anywhere with this.

I see complete units offered from China £39 but they look to have come from their made in China heaters and ( from previous checks) I know the dimensions are not an exact match, the connections are not the same and there is every chance it wont respond to the ECU properly!!)

Any ideas appreciated.

I tend to just change the motor as the bearings are a bit of a pain in the arse to change. Never seem to seat properly ever again then you getting rubbing inside :(

If you can measure the bearing, they are available online though standard bearing suppliers. Our local bloke is Motion Components who have supplied them to me before.

Thanks all. The 'varnish site' was great and told me just what I wanted. I have used the site before but didn't realise it was so detailed.
I will get some bearings and give it a go. Bit fiddly I guess but with the right tools to hand and a bit of practice it looks worthwhile!
Thanks all

PS after further examination and discovering that the brushes have to be considerably modified changing the motor seems the best option but I cant find this particular motor on line. Any advice on locating the motor will be appreciated.

I met the Tonk man at the boat show two years ago and had a long discussion about varnish and Eberspachers. Cor what he doesn't know about ebers isn't worth knowing and his varnishing is superb.
