Eating at SIBS

Park in the car park opposite West Quay shopping centre - expect to pay £8 ish for the day* - and walk across the footbridge into the shopping centre. Go into M&S and get sandwiches, wraps, water, juice, whatever. Come out of M&S foodhall and go down to the car park underneath (not the one you parked in) and you can walk out right by the entrance to SIBS (unless it's been moved this year). If you come in by train then it's about 10-15 minutes walk from Southampton Central to M&S.


*If you think that's bad remember some of us get to pay that for the privilege of having our credit cards ravaged as we are dragged around the shops)

There's a regular free bus, from the station to the Hythe ferry, with stops on the way (including M&S).
 
Always a good day to start a new diet.

Plenty to occupy the mind and tricky to find anything or anywhere nice to eat well.

Not going this year, much prefer the feel of emerging boutique shows. You can get reasonably good quality volume grub there but remember its an exhibition open to the public; you cant really expect to have a pleasurable mastication experience whilst being "processed"!
 
Wasn't there a touch of D&V associated with last year's show?

We went to several of the cooking demos. A good opportunity for free nosh. I remember oysters and something the navy/RM guys did.
 
Do you need to eat or do you need to dine ? If dine the pop out to the many places in Southampton. Tell the organisers you are leaving and you will be coming back so stamp the hand.
 
It always makes laugh.

I guess that the average boat value owned by those on here would be about £100,000.

I would also guess the average boat price at SIBS would be £400,000.

Diesel costs somewhere around £1.20 a litre

An average boat burns what? A litre a mile?

Hamble marina berths cost £6k upwards




And we moan about a £7.00 burger.........
