Oh come on! Come up with one good reason (not including unfounded concerns about the lounge lizards) why one of the more active, and probably the most friendly, of the forums on this site should be buried away under a pile of dead wood out of sight to all but the most persistent scrollers

I happen to think that the ECF is such a friendly place exactly because it is buried under a pile of dead wood.

There's a danger of sounding like there's a bit of a clique thing going on here and I'm sure we wouldn't want that

What makes the ECF different from most other YBW forums is that a lot of us have met in real life.
Most who post here are actual people to the others, not just name- and faceless keyboard warriors.

It is, IMHO, folly and extremely naive to move this safe haven to a more visible place in the misguided hope that the ECF would serve as a shining example for other fora.
When there's a plague, you don't put the healthy people together with those who are sick in the hope that their presence will cure the sick. It is, on the contrary, those who are infected who will kill off those who are healthy.

And that's the last I will say on this matter. Whatever will be, will be... but I have grave doubts.

An excellent Cri de Coeur but I really believe that the power of courteous response and the deafening silence on matters beyond our ability to bother is the antidote that has kept this place as it is for nearly 10 years now.

Err, must say I am a bit mystified by this statement, moved to where exactly?

If you is stating that East Coast be moved to the first 'block' at the beginning of this Forums, seems a teeny bit silly the explanation, as this 'block' is divided into Mobos, General chat, general information exchange, Lounge, and a peculiar Thames (inland is stated), so where might I ask is the East Coast amongst 'friends' or similar 'area' boating events?

Just seems as if someone has lost the 'plot' or at least their 'bearings', perhaps their Reeds is out of date ?

With over 90% of ECF formites based Kent, Norfolk and all points between, are those north of the Humber the ECF's very own ethnic minority?

Since the ECF is now closer to The Bilge, I thought I'd lower the tone a bit (seem to be doing that quite a lot lately)
