Earth google

Can anyone help with a small prob? I downloaded this excellent bit of kit,but I can't get it to fit my screen properly..it is a bit too big and I am losing the bit at the bottom. Can I fix this and how? Ta /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If you're using a windows OS you will see the three little boxes in the very top right of your screen Collapse - Reduce - and Close. Hit reduce and then using your mouse you can drag the edge of the Google Earth screen to size.
Good program you can zoom into Elkins Boat yard in Poole and see the individual boats.

Google earth should resize to fit inside the IE window unless the window is particularly small. The more likely fix to the problem is to open Google earth in a ie window, then go to 'view' in the top tool bar. Then select 'view size' amd 'computer playback' From here you can select a few options. You cannot change these settings if the ie toolbar maximised, so hit the reduce button in the top right of the window first.

Get it! its brilliant, and its free. Its a programme that allows you to zoom in a satellite view of any location on earth - currently in varying levels of definition from the highest where individual boats and vehicles are visible, to lowest in which only larger surface features (fields built up areas etc) are distinguishable. You can also tilt the view so that you get a birds eye view almost down to the surface, with relief in 3d effect. Just brilliant. And it is FREE! Astonishing! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The only snag, its sys reqs may be too high for older machines and cheap laptops.

Not to mention the various enhacements that enthusiasts make available free of charge, showing buildings (eg Manhattan) rendered in 3D so you can tilt the view down to near street level, and fly through the streets in a virtual tour

I have been using it for a while (frustrated slightly that you can get so much better definition of baghdad than you can scotland) and after reading your post starting to look at it again to find this tilt button which I have not bothered with before - it is fantastic!!!!!!

Anyone with an interest in hillwalking needs to get this free bit of software - phenomenal

Go into 'tools' menu on the top toolbar and play with the height enhancement : +1.5 retains the approximate shapes, but increases it enough to make it much clearer.

Check your display resolution.

Right click on desktop, select properties, and up the resolution a notch.

Will make the desktop items seem smaller, but the Google Earth screen a better fit.

Cannot find that at all - maybe I have an older version?

Superb software though - just wish they would redo the photos in my area as they are a bit rough
