Dylan Winter, where he at?

My you are a prolific poster ?......... sorry dunno what happened to Dylan . The last I read he was having a gripe about people viewing his vids for free .......or summin.
 
Dylan still posts on Sailing Anarchy and, apparently, on YouTube (see above). Here he had a couple of spats with posters and stopped contributing
 
Is he the same Dylan Winter that did a Radio 4 broadcast walking along Offa’s Dyke and had thé rather unfortunate accident with his meths based stove in which he made the fatal mistake of trying to refill it whilst it was still hot?
 
Just noticed that clip is filmed off Felixstowe, my neck of the woods. Will keep an eye out for him, always enjoyed his stuff.

That sounds like a bit of scurrilous gossip to me. The accident with the stove is all true though.
 
His YouTube was demonetised for alleged click fraud, and he subsequently acknowledged that some of his fans (his "old men"?) had admitted to him that they clicked on all the ads every time they visited his website.

Hard to make money from YouTube videos if you're not entitled to the ad revenue that all the other content creators are earning.

He should have hired a solicitor to appeal the decision if he really believed himself innocent or just gone silent for a few months and started a new channel.
 
I really enjoyed his videos and the original ethos behind what he was doing, but towards the end got the feeling that he wanted to be paid for making them and got a bit grumpy then a) asked for money and b) got a 'bit' unpleasant about the Scots.

He was the only u tube sailor I could be bothered watching. I think he pretty much gave up his plan to sail round UK. Sold his centaur and was looking for a Fisher. Last time I looked at his web site there was nothing new to see. Pity. I quite enjoyed it and didn’t mind an occasional donation.
He might be sailing and posting videos, again I haven’t looked. I don’t really bother with sailing anarchy.

But he originally set out to document his circumnavigation of Britain. He is a professional broadcaster and made stunning videos. Had he been up front and said I need cash to do this he should have been honest or got a TV deal not change his tune half way round.

Given the documented assistance from people from this forum and others he did really well as a freeloader.

Well yes, freely given wasn't it..
 
The initial Keep turning left vids were very interesting IMHO........... one old chap and his basic mirror 19 with a dodgy diesel doing it on a wing and a prayer..... everyone loves the underdog . Once you start moaning at your followers and getting a bigger boat plus a crew at times it all becomes a bit boring and loses its edge.
