HI All just returned from my qualifier trip yesterday. All went well. But was I board, I was passing all the lovely islands in the Hebrides Islay, mull, Tiree and thought what would I rather do for my 50th sit in the open sea on my own, or cruse the West of Scotland with my wife and son.

I'll post the trip detail when my head is less scrambled. Last night I woke. Where was I? "in Bed at home". Where was the house? "where is normally is". Which direction is it pointing? "It does not matter, go back to sleep"

Pretty well the same reaction here when I did mine.

However, a couple of years on and the yearn for the Azores is as strong as ever. Sooner or later it has to be done, as it it 'there'.

Boredom is one of the challenges - quite stressfull if you think about it.

I remember a qoute that went something like... "All the troubles in the world are because man cannot sit alone in a room." Or something like that.

Anyway: Any decision that doesn't kill you is the right one!

Cheers

Looking less likely I will be taking part in 2012. Having had to close the business down end of last year I have only just secured proper paid employment so the finances have taken quite a beating!

Still on the list of things I want to do, just new job will need my focus first allowing me to start paying back into the retirement fund!

I guess this is the place to reveal that I will not be coming in 2012.

Developments at work mean that I will need to keep my eye on the ball at that time - Gutted!

Boat is still good to go after 2008 (I'd board the windows up this time though).

Best of luck to those who manage to get away!

Sorry to hear that Paul, but I may be struggling to get the start with "things" needing sorted and pennys to be made. Writing this on the back of "Kimara" anchored in a bay in the Sporades, Greece. You have a friend with a yacht in Greece ! ! 37 ft.

Thanks for your comments Malcolm. Buying a house this year so out of money/time. But I may tap you up next summer. Yvette might take to med yottin'. Good luck with your prep.

Lady C; you need to get me propped up against a bar with a pint or two of decent ale and the wisdom born of experience will flow forth until you begin to wish you hadn't asked.

But seriously; if you go to one of the Jester meets there is always lots of freely given experience to consider.

I sailed a 30ft catamaran in JAC08 so my info might be a bit specialised.
