So i found your forum and it was helpful for a good few things. I have a question which i hope you all can help with. I am looking for a drift/anchor drag alarm which is standalone. I sometimes moor jetskis and a small boat nearby for long periods at a time so may not be able to have something charging from the batteries unless it was minimal and would not result in a dead battery. Over 20+ years we have lost a couple of jetskis which obviously is not good. But when i saw there were now alarms i thought it would be a perfect fit as If the alarm did go off i can be out in the water with the boat/jetski within 10 minutes. Would there be any you all know of which might suit this use? As i know most seem to be on bigger boats and sleep aboards. Thanks for your help!

There are many iPhone / Android apps. The challenge is the gps uses large amounts of power so they go flat.

IT canof course send messages etc so is a good solution. Depending on how long you need it to last maybe a phone with an additional Barrett pack. Android also has longer battery life in my experience

I think the phone would not last long enough even with a battery pack. Would there be any gps units which would have long lasting batteries which would then communicate with a phone or an app i wonder?

How long at you thinking of leaving it for!!!! Maybe that is why it got stolen!

There are various GPS tracking units on eBay

Hi, no bikes/boats have ever been stolen. The boat/bikes moored on a bouy in a cove along with other boats. But a couple of times over the 20 years they have been moored there the shackles/chain has failed.
