Dress code for the boat show?

I refuse point blank to dress up even though I continually get snubbed by the salesman (a friend at the weekend said I look like a real villian!!!!). This year I think I'll take my bank statement and wave that at them instead.

One of my colleagues went with me to view a nice Swan 50-something on a boat show. Very posh sales people who registered my colleagues name and address before he was allowed on the boat. A few weeks later, he receives a "personal" letter which started with saying how nice it was that he and his wife had visited them on the boat show.

His wife opened the letter and she was not amused...
