Tuther day, we were desperate to print a letter when the ink light flashed on the printer. So I took out the ink thingy out, gave it a shake and popped it back in. Low and phold it started to print again, except no much ink on the actual letter. So jumped in car and shot off for more ink cartridges. Raced back and pressed the button to get the carrage in the right position to change cartridge. But the printer now thought that it did not need anymore ink so would not stop the carrage in the right position. So I thinks, I'll beat you yer bugger and pulled the plug out as the carrage past the right spot. Got it in One!! Replaced cartrage and off we go. Well no not really. Mortal distruction. The carrage just remains at the end with a great big crunching sound....../forums/images/icons/frown.gif ....../forums/images/icons/frown.gif ....../forums/images/icons/frown.gif ....../forums/images/icons/frown.gif ....../forums/images/icons/frown.gif

in addition to the one printer that hlb mentions, there's another in the garage, also broke with similar antics. Two PC's, TV's and a music centre, all waiting to go to the hardware store in the sky, this house has become a vitual conveyor belt of broken electrical items. so my motto is not "don't try this at home", its just don't have a hlb in your home.

as to the printer cartridge costs, you can take your empty cartridge and have it filled, its a lot cheaper, shops doing this are springing up all over.

<<new printer probably cheaper than replacement inks>>

Funny how you can buy a new printer with black and colour cartridge included cheaper than just the cartridges by themselves. LOL....... no; when you buy a new printer these cartridges are only one third to one half full so the likes of Epson and HP larf all the way to the bank as once again they have locked you in to buying what must be, pint for pint, one of the most expensive liquids in the world.

It's a bugger, isn't it?

Yes but they also have another scam now and not only for printers apparently..TV's and other things. Comet even have a sign up offering free leads if the salesman has not told that the printer tv etc dont come with the ability to actually work. So they sellthe leads seperately. So course, your printer that you bought for £59-99 actually costs you 70 quid. Then it says on the confuser screen that the first lot of ink wont last very long at all. Good job theres a shop to refill them../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

We have a loft full of computer bits as Mike 21 used to build all ours and kept up grading them for just £60 here or a £100 there, also about 3 old printers and 2 screens. some work some nearly work but just need a bit or too. think we need a tidy out.
