Assume you are referring to
Zephyr_43.gif
. Heard a few weeks ago there had beena problem (mentioned in one of the forums IIRC). Had a good look as I passed yesterday, and it looks like the wings have folded over and broken off.

Might have guessed your image would work as soon as I had posted one /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Thanks,
they was at one time, I believe, a discussion about the safety of it due to the fact that if it jammed its sail turning gismo it could be in trouble, it was certainly a talking point on passages up the Cowes river!!!!

Not suprised really, its rubbish. We have seen "it" on the water several times, mostly motoring. For a super efficient craft, its seems to be pants as the only time we've ever seen it "winging" was in a SW 5ish going up Soton Water. We shot passed it. We guesstimated that it was doing about 5 knots.

No, I don't work for IPC, nor am I connected to the organisation in any way. This post is purely my own opinion and I will not be drawn into any discussion of its pants-ness. i respect the developers of the "Wingsail" in their ability to make panty type stuff and, of course, non-panty stuff.

I think it was a good idea, but need more thought possibly, believe the guy is restricted in someway , but wish him all the luck in the future, as I know how I would feel if I could not get out on the water.

I was never assured of the ability of this design to cope with a major storm. I had not realised it was as flimsy as it seemed to be from the residue. Certainly didnt leave a lot left to make a jury rig!
