Five minutes by bike. The last thing you want down at our wee harbour is a car that you need to find a parking space for!

Approximately 60 miles from the boat - 1hr 20 mins to get there depending on traffic.

If I recall correctly the maximum distance any one of us is from the coast in this green and pleasant land is under 70 miles ?

I used to use the straight line of that stern to home in on my mooring, really struggle now /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Keep an eye on her for me, red hull black coverings, should be gone by tomorrows HW /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh sorry, 110 miles 2 hours on a good day! and 4/5 minutes on the GBY ferry service

Until a couple of weeks ago was 10 feet from the house in the garden.

Now about fifteen miles away.

Takes under half an hour if I travel at non commuting times and avoid the 'motorway outside lane owners' on their daily trip to and from Edinburgh via the forth bridge.

So you live a long way from both work and boat. That's just perverse!

I'm 2.5 miles from the mooring as the crow flies but 3.5 miles by car or bicyle to the yard, 300 yards walk down the jetty and 300 yards in the dinghy!

Sorry Fred Drift.

Edit - didnt see page 2, bit more gap between mine and original than anticipated.

Gosh. A lot of you travel some distance, don't you? I don't think I could maintain enthusiasm. Especially with work that isn't that easy to plan around like Photodog.

I used to be able to see the mooring from the front door, but now the little boat is in the garden about 40ft from where I am sittingt, but I have to tow it to Windermere (couple of miles) or Coniston (14 miles to the sailing club). That's no hardship though. It tows well. In fact if the breeze doesn't fall away this afternoon I'll be doing just that.
