I've made Falmouth both on Friday night and back on Sunday night in under 3 hours .. temptation sneaking in to keep ra boat there .. how long's your round trip to your boat?
God Jamesie don't put headings up like that, you frit the life out of me. For one minute I thought it was something serious - like running out of scotch? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Peter.
My boat is in falmouth and it takes 4 to 6 hrs each way and the Marina is very expensive, but it is such a wonderful area to sail..get a week there soon
About 10 minutes round trip if we don't have a 'comfort' stop!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Work to boat, 45 mins in paraffin budgie, 2 hours in taxi, 2 hours in freedom bird, 15 mins in taxi, plus 2 hours waiting time. 7 hours total!! When home, 10 seconds bunk to wheelhouse.
Boat 10 miles away so how long depends on the traffic and how many tourists are trying to cross the Tamar Bridge. Say 1/2 hour each way? Do I need to count time launching dinghy and getting out to the mooring? (about 3 - 5 minutes depending which way the tide is going!)
Do you have a model of V70 I've not heard of? Mine goes fast, but I'm sure not that fast. Sounds like you got lucky with the traffic. Try getting from South Devon to Falmouth on a busy weekend and you can be stuck for hours. Still waiting to get to Ireland then? Heard you were stuck in Falmouth.
Latvia : Walk out back door - step on. Takes longer to bolt outboard on.
UK : From my Holiday mobile on Island ... 10 mins by car to marina. From Latvia !! 2 hrs drive to a/port, 2.5 hrs kerosin pigeon, 3 hrs drive to south .... trouble is I arrive at about 4 am. !! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
