I've just found something strange going on. With two tanks onboard both being independently switched with ball valves, one will still fill up from the other when using the engine for some time. I traced the problem back to a common return/breather from the injector pump/filter.
Do i need to switch the return pipes as well???

Is your switch valve 3 position (port-starboard-both). If so your return pipe should also have a 3 position valve. Both valves should be set to the same position otherwise if you have full tanks and you use fuel from one and return it to the other it will overflow through the breather pipe, wasting fuel and polluting in one go.

Bill.
