Diesel fuel getting into oil

We have a Brewer 44 with a Perkins engine. Diesel was getting into our oil so we had our fuel injector pump rebuilt for $400. The pump was re-installed and we are still having the same problem - getting approx 1-2 quarts of oil after motoring for 2-3 hours. Does anyone have any ideas what else could be causing this problem.

If the fuel return to the diesel tank runs under the rocker cover and it has a leak, that may be your answer. I'm no engineer but it happened to me on a Ford Sabre a few years ago. Didn't take an engineer more than minutes to fix it as I recall.

It might be a leaking diaphragm on the lift pump which would deposit diesel straight into the sump on most engines. (Not familiar with that engine).

think you'd be right- a perkins diesel locally did exactly that due to a faulty lift pump.

usually the lift pump diaphragm got a hople in it, then the fuel goes past the seal where the crank goes into the engine
