Has anyone got an authentic recipe for Dengie Pie?
Its for someone who used to be located round these parts.

I have no clue what it is!

Not sure if it's the same thing, but I have heard of Burnham sea pie.
This originated in the days when farm workers were given their breakfast in the farmhouse but were expected to bring something to add to the stewpot. So the "recipe" changed daily and according to the season, but probably included rabbit, hare, eel, pheasant, oysters, turnip, carrot etc. Probably some road kill too, if that existed pre motor car.
Chuck it all in the pot and simmer for a few weeks.
