Hi Pete - Have you thought about getting the pump re conned with new seals ? could also get another pump so that the engine hatch and the trim tabs are stand alone

Hi Jon, I'm not aware that they're serviceable? Have you got any details?

I believe some people convert the hatch ram to electric. That's an option but i'd rather keep it OEM I think.

OEM is the best way.
Any decent Hydraulic fitter should be able to do a pump - I will have a search about for you.

just putting this out there as possible's before stripping a motor/pump down.
Screenshots below from google on bennet trim tab motor - which the simple culprit is fluid level - expanding on that could the hydraulic fluid in your system require changing out if it has never been done ie low viscosity ?
anyhow - here is 2 guides to refilling the system
and here

Thanks Jon. I've no doubt that the fluid that's in there hasn't been changed for 22 years so I'm going to try and extract it and refill to the correct level. Looks like I can get a new cover for £15 so I'll address that at the same time.
