dehumidifyer

I've been very happy with the Eva-dry 2000 for 5 years. Totally eliminates any hint of damp.
* Peltier (thermoelectric) effect, so very low draw, may be 100w.
* Only one moving part, the fan.
* Control the run hours by using a light timer.
* Can be run on 12v directly (adapter).
* Enough capacity for my 32' catamaran.
* Not damaged by freezing.

I drilled a hole, tapped, and added a drain hose down the sink (above waterline).

For safety, I leave it on the stove and the converter in the SS sink. But the current draw is tiny.

We run ours on an ASDA SIM card, £5 per month (actually EE). Make sure you get a SIM card which works in your boat's location and check with Solwise what their requirement is (the first card we tried didn't work, I forget why).
Sorry for thread drift.

looks very much same idea. I have mine on a freebee sim card Tesco pay as you go, I put £20 on it 3 years ago and as yet have not had to top it up, can't believe a £5 a month sim is worthwhile.

also glad I'm not the only one who had no idea what a "piezo version" dehumidifier was..

I tried to find a SIM card like that but every one I looked at expires after 30 days even if you haven't used up your credit. Can you still get SIM cards that last until your credit expires with no time limit?

Try O2 Classic PAYG
https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/pay-as-you-go/#simtype=simplypayasyougo
I have a mobile on it and there is no 30 day expiry of unused credit. Top up £10 and it lasts until I need to top up

well mine does, as I said it was just a Tesco one, not sure what provider but its a 07783 number, I didn't know new ones expire after 30 days so I can see quite why you have gone for what you have. I will have to keep hold on my one!

Giffgaff do one, but you have to hunt around their website a bit bcz they are keen to sell you the goodybag that expires monthly ! Its common that the non expiry ones do require some periodic activity or the account is closed, so remember to activate an SMS every now and again if your set up does not generate one anyway.
