Hi I have a 42ft Motor cruiser currently in Sant Carles and wish to move down the coast and wondering anyone could recommend a good marina with a bit more life to it in the surrounding areas. Sant Carles has been good for the few years we’ve been here but time to move. Any help would be gratefully appreciated and whilst I know it’s unlikely to get somewhere as cheap we’re happy to up the ante for some more touristy facilities. Thanks.

It's just one large marina. There is another large marina a few miles down the cost in Santa Pola - it's a busy town all year round, but very Spanish rather than the more international feel of Alicante.

We're in Altea and really like the coast (Northern Costa Blanca) north of Benidorm (Altea, Marina Greenwich, Calpe, Moraira, Javea and Denia). Lovely day cruising, open all year, lots of marinas, very convenient for Alicante airport (cheap and plentiful flights), cheap servicing, etc.

Your best bet is to fly out to Alicante, rent a car and visit the marinas (berths are in high demand). If you can't get a berth the Alicante is a good temporary option (although some people love the town and are happy there permanently).
