Oh the futility of precise argument. I am glad [and so to will be all those thousands of appliance stores] that you are one of a few thousand satisfied customers [and have spent your money wisely] and that you run a dry ship. I hope that you have not got to the stage of being wrinkled and prune like. Yo ho ho.

Robp- mais oui! In fact that's more or less what the instructions for the auto dehumid system on my boat say. I have two aircon systems on my 37ft sport cruiser, one in the bow and one in the "mid cabin" under the helm and both have an auto dehumid function which can be set to come on at various intervals and to run for various times. I only need to run one dehumid to "do" the whole boat very effectively, so presumably the moist air moves sideways too! And I'm in very humid Florida. If you have a standalone dehumidifier, it's more effective to run a fan to blow the air around while the thing does its job. One hour per day should do the job if you run a fan, but a bit longer if not. It's surprising how much water is condensed out of the air.
