After trawling the depths of deapest darkest wales, in th search for a half competent mechanic, I finally got a recomendation for one, how ever on a prior meeting with him, he said he did not really want any work and could I not just mend it myself. However I had not realised that the phone number given was for the same guy. A very helpfull bloke, dont get me wrong. On this occasion I ask for the engines serviced. He said, I dont usually bother with that, or that, well I suppose I could do, if you insist.
Then there was the email from Conwy marina, detailing the instructions for the exit, and "ingress" of boats. Now I've had an ingress of water, or even mice or ants. But I've never been asked to ingress a hotel or anywhere else. Is ingress not something you dont really want to happen??
Ok I digress. So deciding to do the servicing myself, I enlisted the help of Kwackers. Mainly cos he has shorter legs than me and in any case his seem to work. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Parts duely arived from Keyparts, who had asured me, that there is just one anode. Not to sure, I rang my old mechanic in Plymouth, who said he thought I had three, but could not remember properly.
So anyway we found two, one on the heat exchanger and one on the oil cooler. I'm told there may be another, some where hidden on the sea water system, or maybe on the gear box oil cooler. The oil cooler on the gear box, dont make sence, as it's suspended between two rubber pipes. So wheres the mistery anode, or is it just a myth. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
