Daftest Boat Name competitions?

Naming it after what you were meant to have spent the money on is popular - There was apparently a 505 called "Barbara's Mink Coat" and there's a Sigma 33 called "Nod's (The Mrs') New Car".

- still not as good as "Sea View"

I once bought a boat called Cunning Stunts but didn't realise the signifficance of the name until I tried to renew the insurance over the telephone one day.

Cheers

Brighton Marina

When Brent Walker owned Brighton Marina the brothers brought down a huge wooden yacht on which to entertain their guests. They called it 'Brighton Marina'. It caused them so much confusion on the VHF they were forced to change the name!

How about the sailing midwife who has the aft cabin cruiser called “Afterbirth”.
Alternatively, the lazer with P.T.O. written up side down in the side of the hull.

Avagoodweekend Old salt Oz……

There used to be a Moody 29 in Dartmouth with that name. I once heard it being called on the VHF by another yacht called Sirius!

Re: Grockle =Non- Cornish visitor to Cornwall. nm
