Anyone recommend a cushion maker - preferably in the West Country?

Our (Westerly Griffon) cushions are twenty years old. We have to get it right:

- can't afford to re-do and

- wife has had back surgery

We had new fire-retardant cushions and covers made for our Konsort - for chartering - by Ian Cook at Roche in Cornwall. Tel 01726 890206.

A friend also had his cushions recovered for his Colvic Sailer by Ian.

Far cheaper than marine cushion makers. He usually supplies and repairs/recovers office furniture.

I had all new cushions made for my boat by the local fabric shop (Westbury in Wiltshire). They did the whole lot for the price quoted by a marine chap for 2. Used first class fire retardant material etc etc. The only thing is they have probably never been on a boat so any deviation fromthe pattern gets you into some interesting converstaions.

I've had several dealings with MJR Upholstery in Taunton, small 2 man band, very good prices and excellent quality of work. Tel 01823 338793, run by a mate of a mate.
