Why is it so expensive. Best option seems to be to cut up an IKEA mattress. Anyone got any other suggestions.

They're 45 years old. Just going to wash them again but thought new might be a better option.

Joscelyn has made quite a few boat cushions over the years, for our own, and for friends', boats.

Most recently (last month), she made settee/ berth cushions for a friend's Haven Class motor sailer.

She got the foam from these people: https://www.thecheapshoptiptree.co.uk/..

Total cost for the two settee bases, and the two backs, was around £140, all supplied ready cut to her pattern.

There's numerous potential problems with using the old foam, including fire risk.

Good luck!

Why bother being cheap about the replacement? I had someone redo all mine.. It cost over a £1000 including new foam and all upholstery for everything.

The original was musty and old. It was over a £1000. But It won't have to be done again for at least another 20 years!

Neal, got a link to the foam at all? Its a job coming up for us but I cant find any mention of it on that website, and its internal search came up empty.
