Curtesy Flag on Antenna

Anyone used the VHF antenna for curtesy flag. Wondered how to secure flag? Seen a plastic clip on Ebay but only in USA.
Any ideas?

it's courtesy only to fly it on the starboard side. so I guess if the vhf aerial is starboard side that's okay :) otherwise an insult :(

Thanks for replies. I think probably cable ties seems a good idea. Only a temporary fix for couple of trips. I intend to fabricate a stainless yard onto the flag staff when I get the time,and do it properly from starboard yard.

I've used insulating tape before... cable ties if pulled too tight on soft materials like plastic quite often mark

on my dive boat, I have two very small carabiners fixed with ty raps on the antenna,
allows my to take the dive flag on and off easyly,
the carabiners stay there permanently
