I posted this last week on PBOR2R by mistake: no replies. I saw a lovely open clinker boat at Portsoy Traditional Small Boats Festival last year. She looked brand new, of traditional clinker construction and about 15 feet long. Her spars were lying inside the boat but it appeared that she carries a main mast stepped close to the bow and a mizzen. She was on the pier, so I didn't get to see her sailing. She looked a lovely boat and I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about her: builder or owner? It is the time of year when I start thinking that it is time to replace my two old clinker built boats with one new one: hence this request.

Was this boat parked up close to the whale watcher's stall?
I remember a clinker boat, full varnish job.
If so, there was a boatbuilder who I know nfrom Gardenstown who had a stall very close. I will look up his details and if its any help I will be going back up on a week or so.
Most of the other boats, Shetland Yalls etc. were over on the New Harbour side. It was a good couple of days... pity about the rain!

Gordon. Thanks for the reply. Think this is a different boat. Curlew was on the outer pier of the new harbour, or at least she was on the Saturday when I saw her.
She was painted white on the outside with a varnished transom and varnished inside.
