I haven’t (as yet) seen any smoke on start up or running...it’s always been a clean burning engine....obviously (when I come back from Paris) I will check for oil and then start her up

I’d remove the engine and the wiring loom, gauges, throttles etc…, so you can start it on land, just to be sure you’re not missing anything and can have a good look round

From your pictures I can see that there is a gasket(5).....so I’m glad I haven’t taken the cover(19) off....as I don’t have a spare. Although that gasket may only be connected to the inner cover(12)
