Cummins QSB 6.7 426 parts manual

I have actually got the free parts manual to download....it turned out the reason I couldn’t download it before is that my iPad is woefully out of date. It did successfully download on my IPhone Mini....unfortunately I really struggle to see it because the screen is so small...for some reason I thought that having a phone that fits easily in my pocket was the only useful buying criteria. The wife said I can have a new IPad.....perhaps she feels sorry for my enfeebled state🤷‍♂️😳🤔
Thank you everyone for your useful assistance......😀
If you have dropbox(free) on both then save to one on your phone and open on IPad.

In the time it took you to give me three alternatives....you could have done it for me🤷‍♂️🤔😳
I would but I don't have a link or know what your rocker cover looks like, I can tell you that lookin under the cover I don't think will reveal much, but feeling the pressure coming from the breather would be a good indication.

One thing that worries me is there appears to be some kind plastic tab in the breather hole...I would like to know how big and what it and if it is fragile before I poke around

This is my work schedule folks, today is pissing down....so I’m not going to work on the boat...at the end of next week we are going to Paris for a week...so probably won’t feel like doing anything before we leave...on my return, I will probably need a few days to unwind.....what I’m saying is, you all have plenty of time to get the information I need😜

The tab may be a nrv/ anti flash I don't know, where do you put oil in?

A picture of the evidence/problem would help, I think the "plastic flap" is the anti flash back device possibly. You haven't over filled with oil have you? This could cause like cavitation in the sump and maybe cause your problem.

The engine was serviced recently....and I am hoping that it is exactly that

I am not familiar with Cummins so I stand to be corrected but the part with the oil filler cap in it doesn’t look like a rocker cover to me as it doesn’t extend the length of the block. If the trace of oil at the end of it is the leak then the oil looks too clean to have worked it’s way up from the sump. In fact it looks like fresh oil so is it possible that some leaked into that cover when the oil was changed?

Yes, I agree....that was one of the reasons I asked for the parts manual....because I didn’t know what to call the part...I just settled on rocker cover until I knew better

I want to take the rocker cover off to clean the oil coming out of the breather....
The breather is the pipe on the front right isn't it? That oil doesn't look anywhere near the breather pipe connection to me.
That's why I ask you for a picture of the problem thinking it was sump oil as you said.
Greg2 looks to be correct.

It’s not a breather pipe...just a breather hole....with a small plastic tab in it......if you expand the photo you can clearly see oil coming out of that hole

I would suggest that whoever put the oil in put it in to quickly and flooded it before it had time to drain down into the sump.
