Always thought the Multipla looked like it had been designed by two teams, one for the body, one for the 'greenhouse'. Unfortunately, they never showed each other their sketches.

I think you've hit the nail on the head!!!

I use my Crocs for dinghy sailing. I discovered one minor problem with them yesterday. They grip too well in mud!

Having sailed up to Keyhaven YC at low tide I stepped out of the dinghy and promptly sank into about 9 inches of very sticky Solent mud. I could not move my feet. Had to take the Crocs off and then retrieve them with my hands.

Got a pair of Cayman crocs a two weeks ago, a gift from my daughters' Australia trip. Mine are brown, and resemble Dutch clogs... However, we already have done one very wet trip with them, and they are incredibly grippy on deck, the best I ever had. Sole doesn't catch grit. Apparently - according to their site- the crocs where developed originally as boating shoes .

Maybe we just didn't have style to start with? On the other hand, some peeps (and am not naming my husband) have spent decades nurturing an unkempt look

even Mrs jhr has succumbed to them.
Mind you, she thinks the Fiat Multipla is cool.

[/ QUOTE ]

SWMBO swears by them but she also thought the Multipla was cool when we took one for a test drive when they first came out with the Direct Inj diesel.
She is also 'merican' and will probably beat the crap out of Mr. Scott the next time they meet.
Actually, perhaps might get a pair myself soon when i return to the US, if I can wear them. I struggle with flip-flops. Wouldn't pay the UK price for 'em though.

Ok, I know they're really grippy, floaty, non-smelly... but am I the only one to find them so .....UGLY?

[/ QUOTE ]

Just bought new deckies and had to check with the holder of the purse before buying them , not to see if we could afford them , but to make sure they looked right . No way would you see me in a pair of those plastic horrors , ugly is an understatement , but then I'm no oil painting

someone was wearing them in theatre today and I will be interested if the gory bits wash out ok

[/ QUOTE ] Eh? Say again. Does anyone bother to wash theatre clogs, ever?

OK, so maybe they do, but everytime I visited those hallowed halls it seemed that every clog had dried blood on it. I'm at little ashamed at my failure to jump up and down and make a fuss about it, but making a fuss was never my style.

No, they ARE UGLY, unless you are younger than me, and then they are Absolutely Fabulous . Still, they're comfy enough, so I 'm aiming for ... Acquired Taste...?
