Cowes Week

I may end up in the Solent as part of my holiday during Cowes week. Can any locals tell me what it's like. Is it really crowded everywhere or ok if you keep clear of Cowes itself.

Cowes itself is murder, up the Medina gets easier. Unless you are into racing you'd be better setting your course for elsewhere.

I was there a couple of years ago. I'd never seen so many boats on a relatively small patch of water. Great atmosphere though.
