From radio techniques to... siren fishing, what sailing/sea related courses have you attended and found interesting, or might have possibly found interesting with a different teacher/method?
Say 1 to 7 day courses, too late for a 5year mechanical engineering degree...

Found the RYA diesel course complete and utter waste of time and v. dull.

VHF course surprising enjoyable but above all, the first aid course I did with Plymouth Sailing School to do my Yacht Master was superb. I expected a dull, fat, semi retired matron telling us how to put on a bandage but what we got was a guy who'd been everything from winch man during the '79 Fastnet distaster to motorcycle paramedic. Didn't even mention sticking plaster or bandages the whole day but talked about cardiac arrest, broken femurs and head injuries.

Cool. Loved every minute of it - but sadly have forgotten it all now !
