Courier to deliver paints and varnishes

Check courier T&Cs ( carefully )

How would I know what they are? Marine Supermarket are the ones who are setting up the delivery. You should take a look at their 'basket'. It gives a pull down menu for the countries they will deliver to.

I purchase. My antifoul from force 4 and that comes by DPD I think, perhaps you could try them.
Mike

I too have purchased from Force4 and had stuff delivered up here.

I purchased all my stuff from Boatpaint, for above and below the waterline (ummmppphhhh!), for the 2016/17 repaint.
I don't know who Boarpaint initially used, but Menzies delivered to me from Inverness.

I suggest you contact Boatpaint - a really helpful and good company to deal with.

Good luck.

If Marine Supermarket are a company they have differing rules to you & me, i hope that is clear

Yes, very clear. It was clear to me before you raised it. And it is every bit as clear now. Clarity has never been in short supply, but thanks for going out of your way to make things just as clear as they always were.

I investigated this in some detail a couple of years ago when someone was interested in buying the tin of genuine Westerly blue deck paint I have around. The answer was simple: Some couriers, but not all, will deliver paint for companies but no courier that I could find would accept a consignment of paint from a private individual. I tried - from memory - around ten different companies. including Parcelforce.

Unless you lie, basically, it can't be done.

I just Googled "Paint Courier" and found this:

Let us know how you get on.

I telephoned Overland Express this morning and said I wanted to send a couple of cans of paint but that I was a private individual, not a business. Answer "Yes, no worries, just parcel it up safely".

Coo, I wish I'd known that. Anyone need a 500ml can of genuine International blue deck paint for Westerlies? Can deliver, it seems.

Overland Express Prohibited Items:

“Dangerous / hazardous goods including but not limited to perfumes, aftershaves, aerosols, flammable substances, dry ice, biological substances, UN classified dangerous goods and any goods specified as such under International Air Transport Association regulations (“IATA”), the Agreement on Dangerous Goods by Road ("ADR") or International Maritime Dangerous Goods ("IMDG") regulations. Perfume and aftershaves may be sent by road to the UK and Europe, please select DPD when booking this service.“

Presumably, paint isn't included in the above, but it might be.

Please refer to posts #7 and #27.

I have completed the booking form and described the contents as "Two tins of paint". No attempt has been made to deceive the carrier.

The booking has been accepted, the shipping label printed and the package will be collected by DPD tomorrow.

Each tin is sealed into a plastic freezer bag and taped tightly to keep the lid on. There is approx. 50mm of bubble wrap surrounding each tin and the whole is contained in a strong cardboard box

I can do no more.

All went very well until the DPD's delivery driver left the parcel at the wrong address, since when it has gone missing.

He has yet to explain how he was able to get a signature for it from an unoccupied address. :)

I've had this with DPD. They sent me a photo of my porch as proof of delivery with the parcel on the floor.... except, I don't have a porch! I ended up driving around for 2 hours to find my parcel. Normally, I would never do that, except it was urgent.

The OP mentioned Scotland. I ordered some gel-coat from a supplier and they said it could not be delivered because it would have had go on a ferry. When I pointed out that Largs was on the mainland they posted it. Their post code system had assumed that above a certain number, all KA postcodes were on islands
