Correct oil for In hull transducer

Living as I do in a country that freezes seriously in winter - I have been contemplating alternatives to Castor Oil ... Glycerine / Glycols etc. Glycols particularly as they are main component in Anti-Freezes ......

Funny enough - I forgot my transducer last winter and left it in the tube ... we hit -30C and I forgot. Come spring - still worked fine ... not so sure what freezing point of Castor is ... will have to check with my lab !!

But you can see that Cooking Oil / water / other concoctions are simply not viable for me at all !! Cooking Oil if left out here - goes rock solid ...
