Is coppercoat effective in the med, specifically from Corsica to Antalya?

I've had it on a previous boat in SW UK and was very happy with it.

I've got limited experience (Balearics) but mine did ok. More growth than in UK waters, but it was still more effective than the expensive racing AF that I had used on the keel (which shed its CC years ago).

Not the Med, but works very well in the Azores. Three years between lift outs with just the usual thin film of slime that was easily pressure washed off. A few barnacles that came off easily, but then the Coppercoat went on in 2009 so is probably due a rub down and fresh coat next time she comes out.

Not immune to tube worm shell but better than conventional a/f.
As ever, it is not supposed to be more effective but saves huge amounts of labour.
That's precisely my experience.
On 6th season now from original application (with just a few occasional patches), and still does its job.
In Sardinia, FWIW.

Is it galvanic loss of copper or fouling?
On my boat all the Coppercoat had gone down to the epoxy undercoat. I did not think fouling unless removing the barnacles and other fouling from the area also removed the Coppercoat but not the underlying epoxy coating.

Had mine done in May, by June most of the hull was ok but a couple of areas fouled with barnacles and the whole of the rudder! Ive got a feeling they didn't key it as it was off the boat being repaired when they did it! Will have a look again next month and decide what to do.
Done on Costa Blanca , boat in Valencia.

Following up on this. I was on the boat last week and the hull was completely fouled with barnacles. Spoke to the company who did it and they have agreed to haul out keen and re-abraid. Will have to wait until nest year though by which time im going to need a bigger scraper...........
