Cooling water intake to engine and modification for winterising

Imagine a large outboard engine .... water in and out .. instead of going up the leg and around the power head ... the water is piped through the transom to the engine and then piped back out again via the transom.
When I was researching fresh water flush for my Cummins inboard, I stumbled across this solution. Not applicable to my setup but may help yours… I think they supply them at ASAP…

Nice ..

Really it only automates what I need to do ... disconnect the IN hose to the hose connected to raw water pump ... fit a 3way valve setup and then flush.

The setup by the previous owner - is a bucket with a hose fitting in the bottom ... disconnect IN pipe .. connect raw water hose to the bucket ... hose into bucket - get engine warm so thermostat opens .... then change to Antifreeze into the bucket ... flush about 4 - 5 litres through and then shut down.

OH ... and make sure IN hose is blown through ! to get rid of water that could freeze in any low section ..

The blue is the raw water intake through to pump .. the black is water IN from transom

Needs the large air intake and mesh filters removed to allow it to connect ..

The general idea is to do similar to the PERKO ... by fitting the 3way between the blue and black hoses ... and fixe to engine box side to allow easy access etc.
