Have an Engal fridge

on the boat and I assume it runs from an inverter when the shore power is not connected - I assume this is the case as there is a small socket with a switch and when this is on the fridge runs. I hve looked thro' all the OEM manuals but cannot find any reference to an inverter.

If this is correct could I run a kettle off the inverter? I assume I could run it at the same time, and don't in fact want to, just wondered if anyone has an idea whether a kettle would cause problems? Is there a particular type of kettle?

Re: Have an Engal fridge

I have a 1897 Start Bay Turdstrangler which I am planning to take to the Isle of Man this summer. Can anyone tell me what documentation I will need? What about proof of VAT status?
If I decide I like it, I may go on to become a livaboard in Spain. Any special taxes there?

Benefits of gas verses electricity verses paraffin please & if you live off ASDA tin stew all the time will any one of them effect the flavour?

Bruce Roberts Spray vs Bavaria 36 (charter layout).

Which one should I buy? I'll be using it for being in a marina for the forseeable future with a view to possible circumnavigation via the capes.

Buying a secondhand "proper" boat with used condoms and dead cats in the bilge vs buying a shiny new one with a hull 1mm thick and a weeensy anchor.

Oh yeah! Osmosis preventative epoxy treatment, always gets a few posts.
