Contentious subjects

Eberspächer vs log fire

fridge vs food poisoning

windex vs back of your neck

sailing alone vs being popular and people able to spend more than 3 mins in your company

windgens in the wind vs the noise of the wind

making any noise whatsoever in the campsite-er-marina, it should be as silent as a morgue after 2030

Plus day shapes, eg:
"Why, oh why do sailing boats never display a motoring cone?"
and
"I rarely see a motor boat with an anchor ball, why is this?"
Also the old favourite, the stuffing box eg:
Modern suicidal stern gear v/s Old steam pipe filled with rags and goose grease

Oh I don't know, I find it quite entertaining when so many people with similar interests can't agree on so many simple issues. I dread to think what would happen if something serious and in need of discussion came up. As for the bogs, flags and hanky debates, I'll just stick to my front and back hanky with associated bits of string I think

Do get it right, I think that the correct phrase is:
All yotties are miserable, NIT picking tossers /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Watching a television in the privacy of your own boat

how much other people use their own boats

Can a question regarding anchors be asked on YBW without craig taking it over to sell his wrought-iron

Well, all I can say is, having sold our wee mobo and had an offer accepted on a Colvic 26 (subject to..........yada, yada, etc) I hope to soon join in as a fully paid up ignoramus on any and all of these subjects, with appropriate gusto and (I suspect !) much derision.........er, is that right? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Racers vs cruisers

What's contentious about that? Everyone knows that racers are ................

Racers just have to be included in the Cruise / Muster....first to the bar to get the very large round in... or first to the beach to start the BBQ's ready for the the rest of us.
But as long as everything else works and is safe....where's the issue?
Oh Yeah!.....THANKS! for brightening up my afternoon......it's good to have a laugh. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've never done any sailing but I once went on a ferry to France. I am about to buy a 75 ft sailing boat with a 2,500 hp motor. It has a 60" plasma TV built in so it's just right for me. The salesman says it's really easy to sail so it's no good trying to change my mind. My question is - what is the best time of year to go round Cape Horn?
