and how many times?/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Checked your flairs are in date.

checked you life jackets, gas bottles etc.

And finally checked how much booze on board as its coming into the time of year for needing it.

Practice MOB everytime a cap goes overboard ie quite often

Surely you shouldn't need to check whether flares in date - if you buy and they are OK till Dec 2006, why keep checking, the date won't change?

Check gas bottle on lifejackets each time I take them on board (they live at home, not on the boat)

Practiced MOB twice, when I fell in pissed! Phones dont float! Gas, yes I've got plenty, 3 x 15kg, lifejackets, yes, got 15! Booze, plenty even for a forum party. Last count 47 bottles of wine, 36 cava, 7 bottles whisky, 8 rum, 4 vodka, 5 bacardi, and numerous other spirits, 12 tins of coconut milk for pina coladas! and 8 cases of 24 beer! Right anybody for a party?

no it will not, but its worth checking the condition of them and reminding yourself how to use them. also not all people note there expire date as you have , so if checked can do no harm, even if once a year.

calling a spade a spade

Haven't practised MOB and don't intend to. Pointless. Quite a lot of this safety talk is a bit health and safety political correctness, like the airplane announcement "Please put down your magazine and listen to the safety briefing, even if you are a frequent flyer" - then the stewardess scowls when you dont pat full attention, even if it's your 3rd flight that day grrrr. Picking up a MOB is about manoeuvring the boat appropriately. That's practised every time you park the thing
