Colin Jarman

Colin was a good, decent man, with no pretension or affectation about him. He held out against his illness (cancer) for a good long time, but it was always going to be limited.

Rest in Peace, Colin. You will be remembered with affection and respect by many people.

We learnt first thing this morning, been dreading the phone call for some weeks but still a shock when it came.
There is a tribute to Colin up on the ECP website. Needless to say, Colin knew that we would carry on with the project into the future and that is exactly what will happen.
A very good friend, colleague, and mentor, and a smashing bloke. I've been wandering around in a bit of a daze all day, knowing he would be telling me to stop being daft.

That is sad news. I'm sure I am among a large number of ECP users who have never met him but will always appreciate his contribution.

I heard this sad news yesterday from Maxine at Yachting Monthly, where I think Colin started his career in the days of Des Sleightholme.

He was a good, honest photojournalist, a nice chap, who loved sailing, boats and the East Coast in equal measure...and was respected by his fellow yachting journalists.

Condolences to his family, friends, and co-authors.

My condolences to family and friends. I never met him but always read his work with interest and enjoyment, and learned a lot from it - as I am sure did many, many others.

This is really very sad news. Colin, I hope you get your junk rigged Kingfisher 20 where you are going. Thanks for all the efforts you have made to keep us informed and entertained over the years.
