I want to install a cockpit shower on my yacht. I have hot and cold pressurised water and there are both hot and cold pipes accessible from the cockpit locker. Can I put a T piece in anywhere along the hose or does it need to be in a specific place? I have attached a photo from what I can see in the locker.

Thanks

When i did mine I put a 'T' in both lines and then isolation valves. I adjusted the isolation valves so I got the correct (for me) water temperature then I put a shower hose with a flow valve on the shower head.worked fine for 6 years.
Edit..
You may have to put a third isolation valves or two non return valves to prevent the hot and cold mixing when you use other taps.

Thanks. The shower is an Osculati with a mixer valve and hot and cold feeds. I just want to make sure I connect in the right place before I cut the pipe! The heads is the other side of the bulkhead where the pipes in the picture are so if I tee-off just before where they go through the bulkhead I should have a hot and cold feeds?

Thanks again

I have always said there are two types of sailors. Those who see it as camping and those who see it as luxury. Some have electric flush toilets and others have a bucket.

When I built my current boat Mrs R insisted on flushing loos, Hot and cold running water and a shower,

I also fitted an outdoor shower on the aft dive platform with controlled shower temperature more than she asked for so happy wife happy life

I fitted a thermostatic mixer valve between the hot and cold pipes, so the temperature of the shower water was consistent
Absolutely agree, a thermostatic mixer valve makes for a much nicer experience and also avoids wasting water while adjust the temperature. Once set, just open the manual tap to hot only and the temperature is always the same comfortable temperature. I have mine set to 38 degrees. Pardon our interruption...

Long life milk, tins of Spam, stale bread, why do you need a fridge, reused tea bags, rubber wellies, cardboard under the mattress to soak up the damp, never changed my oil filter in 19 years, stayed up all night on anchor watch rather than spend money in a safe haven, forecast was F6 but I knew the ship - “she” - could handle it, Heard it all from hair shirt, old men of the sea types campers who wonder why their wives and family don’t want to join them for the weekend.

Fried Spam !! A luxury I only get when SWMBO is not aboard!
Much better to be comfortable , in company and have the creature comforts though!
Getting back to the shower I find a simple mixer connected directly to the hot and cold water works well but there is an obvious danger of scalding if the engine has been running

You were lucky!
