Our boat looks low, lean and mean. Then we put the cockpit enclosure up. Not an aesthetic triumph, but you can’t beat the practicality.
What's wrong with sitting in a warm bar with a nice glass of something watching the sun set on your cold boat?As the temperature drops, and you're still sitting in the cockpit, watching the sunset with a nice glass of something, while everyone else in the anchorage is retreating below, how much do you care about the aesthetics of your boat?
We could leave the judgement to all those who have drowned getting back on board having failed to stick to "just the one..."!What's wrong with sitting in a warm bar with a nice glass of something watching the sun set on your cold boat?![]()
Cockpit tents definitely make it harder to fall overboard. We could leave the judgement to all those who have drowned getting back on board having failed to stick to "just the one..."!
Nothing, if we're not boating, but I tend to do my watching sunsets with a glass of something nice in a quiet anchorage. The nearest bar is a dinghy ride and a good walk away. What's wrong with sitting in a warm bar with a nice glass of something watching the sun set on your cold boat?
Actually we had a cockpit tent on our centre cockpit Moody that was a fab extra room in harbour for all the weather could chuck at us.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. Nor will they be around to condemn us for a quick pint after a day out.We could leave the judgement to all those who have drowned getting back on board having failed to stick to "just the one..."!
Didn't bother in the end. Project very much on the back burner.Did you ever get a cockpit enclosure in the end without going to the Solent area?
This is something I have thought of doing recently.
I see we now gave a company called Ocean Covers in Brixham. Has any body used them for an enclosure? Be interested to hear any comments.
