cockpit cover cleaning

Hi Piers,

Don't know if you have the inclination or the stamina! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif but I just lay them on the pontoon and hose them down and scrub with cif and a stiff broom!

I leave mine on the boat and use the power washer/jet wash on a wide spread, come up like new /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I've been reliably informed that cleaning with some non-biological washing powder and water, brings them up a treat.

I use the same technique to clean my teak decks these days, and it gets rid of all the green.

Cheers,
Paul

After cleaning the covers they then need to be reproofed. I know that Mastercovers at Port Solent marina provide a sevice for cleaning and reproofing covers

Yep, I used Master Covers tel 02392 374739 to clean and reproof mine, they also replaced a couple of the damaged clear panels etc. Very good service - they charge for the cleaning and re-proofing by weight.

No commercial interest etc etc just very pleased with the service.
