Good point. I’d also take a trip over to ABC Powermarine (once permitted!) in
Beaumaris as there’s always a lot of ‘project’ boats in there and it’s reasonable large (and staffed, unlike Rhyl which is hard to get into - but maybe ask @Rhylsailer99 on here to see if he knows of any in the Harboar yard there).

Don't forget the cost of transporting a single mast on its own.

Not as bad as a whole boat, at least! And transport quite cheap and plentiful up here. Maybe couple of hundred up for a hiab, if you’re lucky on a return trip (Shiply are good for that too).

From the way you've phrased the question you might be under the impression that boat "spares" work similarly to the way they do with cars, i.e. if you know the make/model/year there's somewhere they do spares for it? The above answers will no doubt already have disabused you of that. There's often a few masts on ebay so worth keeping an eye on there and good luck with your project...

Not so sure about that, I posted the link without looking, I came across it whilst looking at options for myself. Looks like low level (At least)vwoodwork has been removed. So maybe another boat needing a lot of work.

A DIY wooden mast is an idea - It did cross my mind to make one for my Seal 28. A tall rig was offered and I would like a bigger mainsail................
For the upholstery - you only need the foam to start with

My point was that for £2500 you can buy a complete rig with new standing and running rigging (that's well over £1k alone) exactly the right type with a whole boat for spares attached. even includes a 1GM and a wind generator. maybe this and the OP's current rigless boat could be the basis for one good boat out of 2 as suggested earlier. A good one such as the one I linked to is likely to go for around £7000 complete with nearly new dinghy and outboard, reconditioned engine and all the cruising gear.

Thank you to everyone that replied. I have now ought her after finding a mast, rigging and sails for a good price. I am thinking of replacing the Treadmaster which is very Old and crumbly with EVA teak . I presume that I should find the centre line of the boat and work out from there rather than flow the curve of the hull when applying it.

Hi Mark, abit late for you maybe, I’ve just bought a Cobra 750 and out by Liverpool. It don’t yet have cushions in the front V but others are a perfect fit. Mine has had little upgrades. If you need pics etc can try to help but learning myself. Dan
