Cleaning aluminium anodes

Boat now has aluminium anodes. Previously there used to be rules regarding how to clean the zinc anodes not using ferric brushes etc.
What should I use for to brush up aluminium?

Aluminium anodes are far less sensitive to.iron than their zinc predecessors but it still.might be sensible to steer clear of steel wire brushes or files. Abrasive papers and/or brass wire brush for example.
